So how did a few buddies start a shoe charm company? Well, it started with a simple question about figuring out a creative way to support a local team. The answer is what sparked Foyo. Way back in our heads was a collective memory of a shoe charm we used to wear and collect when we were kids. They were primitive things made of safety pins and beads, sort of like friendship bracelets for your feet. We traded them between friends, grades and even other schools. They were quite a phenomenon. That was our eureka moment. Why not create a charm for shoes?
So with the shoe charm idea in our heads, we went to work. First, we found a talented illustrator to turn the picture in our heads into reality. We then found a group of amazing artisans who could hand paint each charm to give them a unique personality that would reflect the character of the wearer. After a year of hard work, we had a collection of Foyo charms - Foyo shoe charms, Foyo flower charms and enamel Foyo charms - that we were proud to call ours.
Today, our charms can be found on shoes such as Crocs™, Holey Soles™, Dawgs™ or Waldies® but also on hats and jackets around the world. We like to think of it as our Foyo Community. We believe that wearing a Foyo is more than just wearing a charm; you are wearing an artifact from a culture of friends. Our company is committed to bring people together. We encourage you to trade, collect and share Foyos with your friends and join our community.
